Translation[edit source]

Yea, im sorry, but i thought that if I put the translation there there would automatically be 2 versions and the user could choos between the languages.

I find it very helpful to translate sites, because Bethesda have a big community in Germany too and there are sure a lot germans who can not speak or read English, but want to take its part in create new content.

If the languages would be implemented someday, i would translate some sites if you want that.

So dont worry, i will only translate somthing if the languages are implemented.

Greetings from Germany

Freddy

I'm not sure how, or even if, translations are going to be handled on this wiki, but please don't overwrite existing content with content in another language. If translations should be hosted here, they should be hosted alongside existing content.

OK, the Mediawiki software has support for translations. Last I checked, Bethesda Softworks does not. The employees of Bethesda Softworks, as well as their volunteer moderators/sheriffs/regulators/whatever-we're-called-for-Skyrim speak English, and generally speaking, only English. Since moderating content in languages other than English is impossible for the staff, it was not allowed in previous Wikis.
It's conceivable that Bethsoft might be interested in changing their policy; I will ask them about it, and point out the Mediawiki support for them. However, for the time being, as far as I am aware, all content must be in English, and non-English content will have to be deleted. I am sorry, but it may be reality; Bethsoft wants to be able to maintain certain standards on the Wiki, which they cannot enforce if they cannot read a contribution.

Wiki[edit source]

Thank you for this informations.

If it is not happening, its not as bad as it could be. Im sure that somehow someone will lounch a german wiki with premade tuts, if this is permitted.

I have one other question. Can i add a Topic to the Wiki for example "Create 3d objekts" and "Insert new 3d objects into the game" and leave the text empty for someone who knows about how to do that, so he can write in there, or is there some sort of a channel where i can post what topic would be interesting for me, and if someone could make a tut for it or explain it in another way in the Wiki?

Or do you know where i can find informations about this?

Thank you for your pacience with me.

I have confirmation that at least for the time being, Bethesda will not allow non-English content on the Wiki.
