Behind the mask:

I'm new to the Creation Kit and have not attempted to mod any Bethesda Games since TES IV:Oblivion. My experience with the previous CS would not be described as extensive. I dabbled; and the result was a lot of blood, sweat and tears (as well as a handful of pretty cool mods IMHO). That being said, my skills with this tool are self taught coming solely from this wiki and the creation kit itself.
I'll help out wherever I can but between uni and work I'm usually pretty busy. You never know what someone knows :P


Current Projects


My primary motivation for an account here is my upcoming mod Mzandahrk, unofficially dubbed Mega Dwemer Home (MDH) located in the mountains due West of Deep Folk Crossing. Adventuring through Markarth and the Dwemer Ruins that populate Skyrim I grew to really like the architecture. It did not take me long to decide that I wanted a purpose built mansion for my player after such a style.
I'm a bit of a compulsive hoarder and my "need" for such mods is usually born out of this trait. Mainly I like to collect and then display the various armor sets that exist in the game as well as any cool weapons/Daedric artifact's. Since vanilla homes don't really facilitate this, well, here we are.

Regarding the scope of this mod; my vision for the final release (at the moment) includes:

  • Quest to acquire and subsequently make repairs, and additions to the residence
  • State of repair is incremental (and quite expensive, many many dwemer ingots will be required for construction materials)
  • Additions include up to around a dozen NPC's (and several dwemer automatons) and a mine
  • Cells for MDH staff/services, library, leisure/recreation/gardens/pools, guest-wing, master bedroom,
  • Replete Armory for categorizing and show-casing loot
  • Despite my aversion to dialogue when modding, the final version will contain a fully voice-acted questline
  • Flirting with the idea of MDH being a business. Having to pay the NPC's and the estate generating income etc
  • Pet Dragon (possibly guarding a Fable 3 style vault)???
  • Life sized Chess (depends on how heroic I think I am at Papyrus)


This is going to be a fairly ambitious project given my current level of familiarity with the CK, but I'm pretty excited by it.

Mzandahrk - An epic-sized Dwemer-style home in the mountains North North-East of Markarth the player can work for and purchase. [WIP]


Automated POV Switching - Automatically switches player POV upon drawing/sheathing their weapon(s). [REL/WIP]


Glowing Eye Fix - Lesser Power - Gives the player a lesser power that can be cast to remove bugged/glitched glowing eyes. [REL]


Vanilla Hair and Eyes Unlocked - Unlocks all vanilla hairstyles and *eyes to be available during character creation to *all the races and genders. [REL]


My Questions

What is the function/purpose of the static marker planemarker? I can't seem to find any mention of them. Anything to do with portals and room markers?

Yes, a Planemarker is the name of the "object" that get's placed when you create an Occlusion Plane/Cube. Antares (talk) 19:52, 26 November 2012 (EST)
