Introduction

The following information is presented as a way to properly use the FO3/FNV/TES4/TES5Edit tools created by ElminsterEU. This manual contains a tour of xxx-Edit, a lengthy FAQ/Navigator and several Chapters of detailed instructions on how you can utilize the varied functions of xxx-Edit successfully to improve your gaming experience. This includes a guided-tour of the many functions that xxx-Edit provides, and show you how to de-conflict groups of mods as well as improve the stability of your game and ensure the minimum of game-impacting conflicts.

The questions answered and processes described herein are intended to help both mod-users and mod-authors to improve the quality, standardization and conformity of Bethesda mods. If you utilize more than the provided Bethesda content or if you write mods, then using xx-Edit to resolve potential conflicts, clean mods and smoothen the loading process. There are thousands of mods for all the games that xxx-Edit supports. Hopefully through public contribution this page can become a resource to standardize mod delivery and reduce conflicts where-ever possible.

About This Document

This document presumes a basic understanding of what "Mods" are, and how to install them on your system. This manual is not a guide on how to build mods, and the use of xxx-Edit for extensive mod changes is discouraged for most users – that's what the GECK and CK were built for.
