Verify Integrity of Game Cache

From time to time, Skyrim may get corrupted or damaged and stop working very well, or may stop working completely. This can happen because of random chance or because of mod usage.

To return the game to how it was after the installation of the main file and all updates, follow this procedure:

1. Log on to Steam in the on-line mode.
2. Click on "Library."
3. Right Click on "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."
4. Select "Properties" from the pull-down menu.
5. Click the "Local Properties" tab.
6. Click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..."
7. Wait for the machine to finish processing. It may take a long time.
8. Follow the instructions in the boxes. If a large download is required, then the computer may have to process for a very long time indeed. If the cache is not damaged or corrupted, the process will not take long.
