Light Actor Hard Limit

No mention is made of the maximum number of NS lights that can be implemented King Mango (talk) 2014-05-29T13:52:49 (EDT)

Shadowcast Lights Auto-Convert to NS

My shadow lights markers are red-colored, only showing the horizontal loop around them, and the lights themselves don't show up in the lighting preview.

I was trying to adjust the brightness using the ctrl+alt+s key combo, which caused the marker to flicker between normal appearance and the red described above. Also, any new shadow lights I attempt to put into the cell turn red instantly.

Any idea what causes this? And how to not make it happen again?

You can only have four shadow lights active at one time. If you have more than four, they will turn red and stop functioning. -Bwillb 01:32, 13 February 2012 (EST)

Tutorial needs expanding

In WorldObjects > Light there are hundreds on lights listed. As a beginner, you really don't know where to start and which lights to use. Lighting is important, so I feel this tutorial needs more than just the basic light types and where they are found in the object window. --Syneris 20:10, 11 February 2012 (EST)

First thing I do is go to the light section and then enter "NS" in the search filter. This will constrain your choices to non-shadow casting lights. From there it is considerably easier to make choices. King Mango (talk) 2014-05-29T13:54:21 (EDT)

Toggle Lights?

When I toggle the lights on/off, the room goes from being uniformly completely lit

to uniformly completely unlit

Unlit.jpg.

Any ideas why?

EDIT: I just realized that changing "Bright Light Color" in Preferences>Render Window to black makes the room uniformly blacker than Chris Farley's belt in Beverly Hill's Ninja.

Not sure if that has anything to do with the problem, but there it is for what it's worth

EDIT AGAIN: Well, it appears as though the lights are working properly now, but the light button is not depressed... And I haven't changed anything, it just didn't work at all, now it works

In this setup, toggling lights with A so that the toolbar button is depressed actually turns them off.--Lmstearn (talk) 2014-12-31T23:54:29 (EST)

-->What about sound FX? Absolutely no mention of that here even though that does matter since most dungeons have fire somewhere.

Can't edit lighting template

I can't change anything in the lighting template: screenshot. Notice how everything is greyed out. Why is this? It wasn't like that earlier.

Glowfills

Placed an FXLightWhiteBasic with emittance to FXLightRegionSunlightWhite just above the ceiling overhang. The white glow gives some "creedence" to the spooky FXAmbBeamDust03 angled towards it.--Lmstearn (talk) 2015-01-01T06:15:25 (EST)
