Acoustic Spaces are used to define the audio properties of a Cell in the game.

They can be used to define looping ambient sound effects and Reverb Parameters that will be heard in the applied Cell.

Creating an Acoustic Space

To define a cell's Acoustic Space, use the Default Acoustic Space drop down box on the Common Data tab of the Cell dialog. Exterior cells do not typically define an Acoustic Space; ambient sound effects for most exterior cells are defined through Regions.

You can create smaller acoustic spaces within cells by using the 'Create an Acoustic Space' button on the main toolbar.

Acoustic Space Perameters

  • ID: unique name of the Acoustic Space
  • Environment type: which Reverb Parameter preset the Acoustic Space will use
  • Use Sounds From Region: Include sounds from the selected Region; sounds derived from Regions are set up in World --> Regions. The selected Region's sounds will play back in the Acoustic Space.
  • Looping Sound: sound that will be looped in this Acoustic Space (typically a stereo looping file to provide unique background noise or roomtone)
