Sound Category

A general category that individual sounds can be assigned to. Similar to a group or buss on a mixing console. Note that Sound Categories can be routed to other categories as well to create a hierarchy from a master category on down.

  • ID unique name for the category
  • Name name of the category as it will appear in a string in the game (e.g. in the audio settings menu)
  • Categorize Sounds select one or multiple sounds to assign to this category en masse
  • Categorize Categories select one or multiple categories to assign to this category en masse
  • (drop down list) defines the category this this particular category points to, i.e. its parent
  • Mute When Submerged this category is muted when the camera is under water
  • Should Appear on Menu will cause this category to be available in the audio settings menu in-game
  • Static Volume Multiplier can be used to attenuate all sounds in this category. For example, setting this to 0.8 will cause all sounds in this category to play back at 80% of their playback level. Similar to buss mixing
  • Default Menu Value the default level that this category will appear at in the audio settings menu
