Talk:Adding Voice Intermediate Tutorial
"Once you make a specific voice type, you must record the Misc. things they say like, hello, goodbye, how can I help you etc.. otherwise they will remain silent with nothing to say"
Is there somewhere a list of topics (or dialogue lines) that have to be overriden for a new voicetype ? Like when you pass close to your NPC, when you don't have any more dialogue topics and they just say "yes" or something ?

- It's in Misc and combat. my question to Bethesda is that in this tutorial you state it is not possible to have the default actors say your unique dialogue. "Can't" Well, what if I can? Am I aloud to, as long as it is in Skyrim and no other TES or other game?. Example. Warmaddens Vanilla "Have you come to protect yourself? Or do some damage?" Am I aloud to modify him to say "have you come to do some damage? or, do some damage?" Am I aloud to mod this and am I aloud to share. I know taking assets from other games is considered porting but if it is the same game. all people playing would have bought a copy and have the same files? Would this be copy write infringement? Thank you for the perspective. However as of the time of writing, the entire opening of this article: The Age of Voice Acting, I read as derogatory to non voiced mods, is it intended to be such? They can have masses of talent and quality in them or none at all, but how does the wiki benefit from judging that either way, surely that is up to the individual? Unbiased and neutral is better for relaying information. Markmid
This article is informative, but the author's exhibits a serious attitude against Bethesda and their tools by lambasting them at every turn. Sentences like "The file names are static, so far as I can tell, saves memory I guess, unchanging, always something ridiculous but functional like" are cluttered with colloquialisms that detract from the overall value of the article.
"I could say a lot about the built in recorder for the creation kit. Most, however, would be mean spirited. I would rather focus on what we can get out of it, and when we should turn elsewhere. We will just call it a ... less developed feature of the creation kit." This is unnecessary. The wiki is not to judge the quality of the tools, but to provide instruction in their use. The author is not writing a review of the CK.
"Try it. It sounds pretty bad without any editing. I have a $250 condensing or something microphone of my brothers. With no polishing it still sounds like a random guy talking in a room with a computer(I even caught some chainsaws from down the street what will be behind your mods audio?). It doesn't sound like something I would want to hear from an NPC in game." Now it just sounds like he's writing a blog entry about it. The quality of the microphone is irrelevant; my $60 USB microphone produces the same quality as the stock recordings. Let's keep things as professional as possible. Stavius
- I made a comprehensive edit to the article and remove the opinionated statements made by the original author, including the excessive use of pronouns (I, you, we). Also added some additional links, but overall, the tutorial still can go more in-depth to help new users. --JagarTharn23 (talk) 2013-03-15T23:22:30 (EDT)
