Talk:Faction

How is it there is no information in the entire wiki on setting faction as the outcome of a quest? This is amazingly significant and is entirely absent for some reason. We need documentation on how to alter faction for the player. For example, say a quest or spell should set it so the player has friend faction level with wolves so they no longer attack, how would this be done?

Does anybody know how Jarls get the "Jarl" prefix added to their name? I'm trying to do the same thing with thanes - as I'm making thanes in each city - but I don't know how. GetTheJojDone 15:22, 20 May 2012 (EDT)

Special Combat: Speculation: I'm still testing but I think checking this overrides normal relationship checking. ~jbezorg

Not working[edit source]

Faction data doesn't seem to be working, for example I found DremoraFaction, I added an interfaction relation "PlayerFaction" as Neutral then went into Skyrim, spawned a Dremora Lord and he still attacked me even though we should be on Neutral terms. Then, opening up "PlayerFaction" I ticked all of the boxes "Ignore crimes against non-members" as well as "Do not report crimes against members", pick-pocketing someone in town still reported the crime, and I was still chased around even though it should have been ignored. Dremora Lord's are defined as "Very Aggressive" in the CK, so you would need an interfaction relation value of "friend" or higher in order for them to behave without hostility toward you. NightOwl (talk) 2014-08-08T20:42:16 (EDT)
I know this is really, really old, but just for reference, I believe the 'ignore crimes against non-members' means that actors that are in this faction wont report crimes that were committed on another actor that's not in this faction. In your case, actors in the player faction aren't going to report crimes committed on those that aren't in the player faction- which is nobody aside from you. The 'do not report crimes against members' would then mean, you - the player - won't report crimes committed on you. --Lillysky (talk) 2015-07-18T18:36:34 (EDT)
