Force Subtitles Not Working[edit source]

I have set the "Force Subtitles" flag but it does not seem to work. Anyone else getting this? Oss133

Yeah, I'm getting the same thing. Seems broken. --Nycz 13:58, 12 February 2012 (EST)

Topic Info Script Fragment Names[edit source]

Can you change the default name of a papyrus fragment when you just enter ; there? It seems per default the unique identifier is the formid. But this makes it difficult to gather all the fragments together to bundle it for your mod. And it might be possible that two fragments from different mods have the same name. What is the best way to handlé this? I already have several hundreds fragments named per default. Sein schatten (talk) 2013-11-26T06:34:00 (EST)

Under File => Preferences... => Scripts there is an option to set a default "Fragment file prefix". I haven't used this but I suspect it can be used to help keep topic info fragments organized. UBCToad (talk) 2017-02-08T15:04:11 (EST)

Speaker: doc description[edit source]

Currently the page says "Speaker: Optionally, you can select an NPC. Only the selected NPC can say this line of dialogue."

I interpret this as "Only the selected NPC say this line". Eg. we can use this instead of a GetIsId == JohnDoe

I did a simple one-time test using only the Speaker form selector (with no condition script), but other NPC actors will say the line.

Am I just being difficult here ;) or is there another way to phrase the description. At the moment I am not quite sure what the Speaker data is used for. T-Andersen (talk) 2018-01-16T17:43:30 (EST)

Voicetypes for info[edit source]

I'm reverse-engineering how the CK decides which voicetypes are relevant to a given info.

  • The CK appears to pay attention to these condition functions: GetIsAliasRef; GetIsID; GetIsSex; GetIsVoiceType.
    • GetIsAliasRef, as processed here, is capable of finding and checking base forms for the following fill types: unique actor; created form; or forced fill from pre-placed ref.
  • Some parts of the CK check whether these conditions are specifically comparing their result as == 1 or != 0.
  • If an info's parent topic belongs to a Dialogue Action in a Scene, the CK looks up what reference alias that action is assigned to. If an alias is present, the CK acts as though the info has a GetIsAliasRef condition referring to that alias. Not sure what the CK does with the result, though.
  • When the CK sees that an ActorBase uses a template, it follows the chain of templates to the end in order to identify the ActorBase's computed voicetype. If the final ActorBase has no voicetype, then the CK pulls the default voicetype for its race and sex. If there is no such voicetype, and the CK is specifically checking the parameter to GetIsID, then it warns about using the condition on an actor whose voice can vary.

Never mind, lol. I can only find the CK checking those four conditions, but VoiceType documents a larger list of conditions that are valid. Maybe the CK does or doesn't track those, but they should work in-game if they're listed there. DavidJCobb (talk) 20:57, 10 August 2026 (EDT)
