HOW THING BE AT
If anyone with server access is monitoring this page, it looks like the recent MediaWiki upgrade broke the Creation Skin and it's messing up the top-left tabs. To see what I mean, compare pages with long titles, like Differences from Previous Scripting with the Creation skin and the Vector skin. I'm not sure what the purpose of the skin is, since it seems on the surface to be Vector by any other name, but whatever changes were initially made will have to be re-incorporated into the newer version of the Vector skin.

Would it be possible to include checkboxes for keeping track of where I am in a tutorial? For example, the tutorial on dynamically adding scripts to npcs around me is rather long. It would make it way easier to keep track of where I am if I could check off the steps as I go along.
HOW MAKE ANYTHING THROUGH

:Probably the easiest way to do something along those lines is to just drag the section title you're on from the Table of Contents into your favourites bar (or whatever else you use for storing links). When you resume, delete the previous link and replace it with a new link at the end of your next session.<span style="white-space:nowrap; line-height:0;">&ndash; <span style="color:royalblue; font-size:150%; font-family:Vladimir Script, serif">Robin Hood</span>&nbsp; <span style="font-size:70%; vertical-align:super;">(talk)</span></span> 2015-01-31T03:32:14 (EST)

::Thanks for the suggestion, but that won't help me. I don't need something that remembers data from day to day. I just need to keep track of it as I go along. Going back and forth on a 4 page long tutorial isn't easy, and I am aware that perhaps implementing these checkboxes on this wiki might not be easy either. I was looking at checkboxes and it seems that one of the primary reasons that these are implemented is for storing data. That's not why I'm suggesting them. The reason I suggested checkboxes is so that I can just check the box while I have that page loaded up so I can keep track of where I am in a tutorial. First of all I'm ADD, and secondly, my eyes sometimes dart around uncontrollably. Now I'm not suggesting that you do this just for me, because I'm fairly certain other people who are new to programming in papyrus and creationkit would benefit from this as well since some of the tutorials are so long. Is implementing checkboxes on this site not something that could be easily done? Cheers.

:::I'm just Joe Blow User on this wiki, so I personally can't do anything for you. :) I am a server admin elsewhere, though, so I have at least some idea of the work that would be involved in something like this. It's probably possible, but I doubt it would be worth it to implement. I have two suggestions to do what I think you're describing, though they're definitely a bit klunky:
HOW MAKE EVERYTHING BE THROUGH
:::*Highlight the text of where you left off before you scroll away. This method is very twitchy, cuz one click in the wrong place and you've lost your highlighting.
HOW UNIVERSE THROUGH
:::*Edit the page, but don't save it. Type in something like "Agnosgnosia wuz here" (or whatever else takes your fancy), then preview your change and then scroll back to where you need to go. When you're done reading, you can just search for "Agnosgnosia" to get quickly back to where you were. This is probably the better choice overall, but has the disadvantage that you might accidentally save instead of previewing.

I haven't explored thoroughly, but the main problem seems to be coming from the #left-navigation code, which was set to use absolute positioning in 1.20, and doesn't seem to have any special CSS applied in 1.22.

For the average Joe who doesn't like where the Page and Discussion tabs are: just switch to using Vector and everything should be fine. Robin Hood  (talk) 2013-12-13T05:28:46 (EST)

Search Broken[edit source]

The search feature currently seems to be broken. In Chrome, I get nothing at all; in Opera, I get a "Remote server or file not found" error. Robin Hood  (talk) 2014-12-06T14:20:11 (EST)

Yep. Been broke for over a week for me. Just blank. --Darkconsole (talk) 2014-12-07T07:48:19 (EST)
Technically, it's no longer broken, but it doesn't seem to actually search anymore. No matter what I try, I get no results. Robin Hood  (talk) 2014-12-11T18:47:13 (EST)
Looks like they're reading this page, even if they're not responding to it. Search works fine now. Thanks, mysterious, invisible people! ;) Robin Hood  (talk) 2014-12-23T21:53:03 (EST)

Checkboxes[edit source]

Would it be possible to include checkboxes for keeping track of where I am in a tutorial? For example, the tutorial on dynamically adding scripts to npcs around me is rather long. It would make it way easier to keep track of where I am if I could check off the steps as I go along.

Probably the easiest way to do something along those lines is to just drag the section title you're on from the Table of Contents into your favourites bar (or whatever else you use for storing links). When you resume, delete the previous link and replace it with a new link at the end of your next session.Robin Hood  (talk) 2015-01-31T03:32:14 (EST)
Thanks for the suggestion, but that won't help me. Cheers.
I'm just Joe Blow User on this wiki, so I personally can't do anything for you. :) I am a server admin elsewhere, though, so I have at least some idea of the work that would be involved in something like this. It's probably possible, but I doubt it would be worth it to implement. I have two suggestions to do what I think you're describing, though they're definitely a bit klunky:
 • Highlight the text of where you left off before you scroll away. This method is very twitchy, cuz one click in the wrong place and you've lost your highlighting.
 • Edit the page, but don't save it.
I hear you on the ADD. My eyes darting around was actually what led to me being diagnosed. Robin Hood  (talk) 2015-01-31T14:36:34 (EST)

What's up with the cache?[edit source]

We're over here making discoveries on the Perk Entry page, both on the page itself and the discussion, yet the changes only show up to logged in users - meaning the bulk of the people searching aren't gonna get updated info.

Also why is robots.txt blocking Google from useful info? --Darkconsole (talk) 2015-07-18T14:29:05 (EDT)

CAPTCHA is breaking the preview function[edit source]

I can't preview my edits because Google's CAPTCHA pops up every time I submit any changes on this site. When it does pop up, it blows away every change I've entered into the textbox, and it doesn't even have a decency to show a preview of what's left! Can this be fixed? :\ DavidJCobb (talk) 2016-04-22T20:43:04 (EDT)

Apparently, it's also breaking the edit conflict function. Breaking it more, that is, because apparently I can get into an edit conflict with myself. DavidJCobb (talk) 2016-04-22T20:44:40 (EDT)
The whole wiki is screwed up in a few places.. not really maintained by anyone anymore, if you've noticed.--Terra Nova2 (talk) 2016-04-25T01:56:41 (EDT)
I've had some luck before contacting them through their website. You kind of have to fudge some of the entries, and you'll probably have to explain to the person that you're not actually looking for support with the game, but last time there was a problem with the wiki, I eventually got through to someone that way and they were able to fix the problem. Also, things may be different now, but it used to be that if you posted about a problem here, it would eventually get noticed and fixed, even if they never replied. Robin Hood  (talk) 2016-04-25T02:46:58 (EDT)
Captcha still breaking the preview function. I also just had to go through TWO separate captcha's to edit an article (and FOUR to discuss this here). If I contributed here more regularly it would have driven me insane by now. Antares (talk) 2018-07-27T06:04:53 (EDT)

The landing page breaks all my links and bookmarks.[edit source]

Is there any way to lose the new landing page and replace it with a more elegant way of directing people to the Skyrim or Fallout4 sections? All links to wiki pages are broken now. Pananacakes (talk) 2016-07-01T20:50:16 (EDT)

Creation Kit SE and existing Papyrus function related bugs[edit source]

Nothing for Papyrus has changed in Skyrim SE. All known CK 32bit bugs are present in CK 64bit. --Lisselli (talk)

Official forums link on the main page not up to date[edit source]

I'm new here; I hope my contributions will be useful.

I just noticed that the link to the official forums on the main page (https://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=Main_Page) still redirects to the old forums.

New address: https://bethesda.net/community/

Maybe it's time someone changes it?

Nobody to correct this link?
