Lonely Wiki
- This wiki seems rather lonely, or even empty, at least where I contribute. Can anyone recruit new users from UESP? We could use more contributors on this wiki. SFK363 13:07, 9 April 2012 (EDT)
- For some reason the major of people dealing with Skyrim seem to be anti-CKWiki. There is a lot of info posted at the CK forums that doesn't get put into a page here. As it has remained like this for 2 years now, it is safe to say, this isn't going to change. All you can do is try the best you can with contributing to the wiki.--Terra Nova2 (talk) 2014-09-24T08:10:54 (EDT)
I can help with contributions. I'm finally done playing with Skyrim, and I'm interested in building new locations and quests. I'm disappointed with the very small number of mods that provide new quests. It seems like most people are only interested in fancy graphics or new armor. I am new to modding, but I can try to provide editing tips as I'm learning. --Dave 10:19, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Is this wiki still active?
Hi,
I only wanted to ask whether this wiki is still in use, because I do not want to waste my time translating this wiki into german and its dead already. This wiki helped me a lot by developing my own mods and I wanted to give sth. back. Tough there is not much activity here...
- Yes, it certainly is! There might not be not as much activity now as there was five months ago, but a lot of people continue to use the wiki's resources. That being said, I'm certain it will increase once again with the release of the Dawnguard DLC. Any contributions you can make in the meantime would be very much welcome - There are bound to be other German modders who'd benefit from your translations. Thank you for considering it.
- By the way, you can sign your posts by appending '~~~~' to them.

- That´s great. I just read the chronicle and it was ... moderate. Then I will start translating it. Thank you for the quick answer.

CK version number / patch notes
Fellow modders and Bethesda programmers, is there any chance to communicate CKs’ current version number and the implemented changes? It would help. thx
- I would like to second this. If the Main Page stated somewhere what the current version of Creation Kit was it would be a big help. I'm still using 1.6.9 and plan on updating to 1.8??? (see, I don't know which version it is) when SKSE gets updated. I should not have to go elsewhere to find this information, the very notion seems silly when this is the Creation Kit wiki.Antares (talk) 15:00, 10 November 2012 (EST)
- I've added a link to the Creation Kit article.

- Thanks for that ShadeMe, the link took me quite some time to find because the text isn't hyperlink-blue. Was that intentional? Antares (talk) 04:55, 12 November 2012 (EST)
- This seems to be a general effect on this wiki. Links to already visited pages are displayed in a very dark blue and are hard to spot. --Alfwyn (talk) 06:03, 12 November 2012 (EST)
- The link style is determined by the wiki's style sheet. You can change it by either switching to a different one or writing your own. At any rate, I've added some emphasis to the link.

Syntax highlighting busted
This error is causing script examples to disappear. Anyone know how to fix this? Heres the error with added *
Invalid language. You need to specify a language like this: <*source lang="html4strict">...</source> Supported languages for syntax highlighting:
And heres a few places it shows up. http://www.creationkit.com/Action_Script http://www.creationkit.com/Array_Reference http://www.creationkit.com/Activator_Script
Yay for the wiki syntax fix!
It looks like the syntax for all pages is messed up again..--Terra Nova2 (talk) 2016-01-29T01:08:28 (EST)
Suggestions?
Where can we submit suggestions for improving the program? when I unload a small plugin, it re-loads the entire main data files which takes ages, all I wanted to do was unload and reload the small plugin I'm making
should be rather swift, but takes forever. A "Revert to saved" would be handy too.
Creation Skin bug
If anyone with server access is monitoring this page, it looks like the recent MediaWiki upgrade broke the Creation Skin and it's messing up the top-left tabs. To see what I mean, compare pages with long titles, like Differences from Previous Scripting with the Creation skin and the Vector skin. I'm not sure what the purpose of the skin is, since it seems on the surface to be Vector by any other name, but whatever changes were initially made will have to be re-incorporated into the newer version of the Vector skin.
I haven't explored thoroughly, but the main problem seems to be coming from the #left-navigation code, which was set to use absolute positioning in 1.20, and doesn't seem to have any special CSS applied in 1.22.
For the average Joe who doesn't like where the Page and Discussion tabs are: just switch to using Vector and everything should be fine. – Robin Hood (talk) 2013-12-13T05:28:46 (EST)
Search Broken
The search feature currently seems to be broken. In Chrome, I get nothing at all; in Opera, I get a "Remote server or file not found" error. – Robin Hood (talk) 2014-12-06T14:20:11 (EST)
- Yep. Been broke for over a week for me. Just blank. --Darkconsole (talk) 2014-12-07T07:48:19 (EST)
- Technically, it's no longer broken, but it doesn't seem to actually search anymore. No matter what I try, I get no results. – Robin Hood (talk) 2014-12-11T18:47:13 (EST)
- Looks like they're reading this page, even if they're not responding to it. Search works fine now. Thanks, mysterious, invisible people! ;) – Robin Hood (talk) 2014-12-23T21:53:03 (EST)
Checkboxes
Would it be possible to include checkboxes for keeping track of where I am in a tutorial? For example, the tutorial on dynamically adding scripts to npcs around me is rather long. It would make it way easier to keep track of where I am if I could check off the steps as I go along.
- Probably the easiest way to do something along those lines is to just drag the section title you're on from the Table of Contents into your favourites bar (or whatever else you use for storing links). When you resume, delete the previous link and replace it with a new link at the end of your next session.– Robin Hood (talk) 2015-01-31T03:32:14 (EST)
- Thanks for the suggestion, but that won't help me. I don't need something that remembers data from day to day. I just need to keep track of it as I go along. Going back and forth on a 4 page long tutorial isn't easy, and I am aware that perhaps implementing these checkboxes on this wiki might not be easy either. I was looking at checkboxes and it seems that one of the primary reasons that these are implemented is for storing data. That's not why I'm suggesting them. The reason I suggested checkboxes is so that I can just check the box while I have that page loaded up so I can keep track of where I am in a tutorial. First of all I'm ADD, and secondly, my eyes sometimes dart around uncontrollably. Now I'm not suggesting that you do this just for me, because I'm fairly certain other people who are new to programming in papyrus and creationkit would benefit from this as well since some of the tutorials are so long. Is implementing checkboxes on this site not something that could be easily done? Cheers.
- I'm just Joe Blow User on this wiki, so I personally can't do anything for you. :) I am a server admin elsewhere, though, so I have at least some idea of the work that would be involved in something like this. It's probably possible, but I doubt it would be worth it to implement. I have two suggestions to do what I think you're describing, though they're definitely a bit klunky:
- Highlight the text of where you left off before you scroll away. This method is very twitchy, cuz one click in the wrong place and you've lost your highlighting.
- Edit the page, but don't save it. Type in something like "Agnosgnosia wuz here" (or whatever else takes your fancy), then preview your change and then scroll back to where you need to go. When you're done reading, you can just search for "Agnosgnosia" to get quickly back to where you were. This is probably the better choice overall, but has the disadvantage that you might accidentally save instead of previewing.
- I hear you on the ADD. My eyes darting around was actually what led to me being diagnosed. – Robin Hood (talk) 2015-01-31T14:36:34 (EST)

What's up with the cache?
We're over here making discoveries on the Perk Entry page, both on the page itself and the discussion, yet the changes only show up to logged in users - meaning the bulk of the people searching aren't gonna get updated info.
Also why is robots.txt blocking Google from useful info? --Darkconsole (talk) 2015-07-18T14:29:05 (EDT)
CAPTCHA is breaking the preview function
I can't preview my edits because Google's CAPTCHA pops up every time I submit any changes on this site. When it does pop up, it blows away every change I've entered into the textbox, and it doesn't even have a decency to show a preview of what's left! Can this be fixed? :\ DavidJCobb (talk) 2016-04-22T20:43:04 (EDT)
