When working with a non-templated humanoid Actor, the Character Gen Parts Tab allows you to adjust their appearance. Make sure to turn on the Preview checkbox (at the bottom of the form) so you can see your changes.

Data Fields[edit | edit source]

  • Face Complexion: Sets the character's general complexion.
  • Hair Color: Allows you to select a hair color.
  • Face Tint Layers / Color: For each of the Face Tint Layers on the left, you can select a Face Tinting Color, either a preset or a specific RGB value. You can also select an Interpolation Value for the tint.
  • Base Head Parts: You can change the appearance of each of the base head parts (Face, Eyes, Hair, Facial Hair, Eyebrows) by clicking on them and selecting from the dropdown list, or by dragging in the head part you want from the Object Window.
  • Additional Head Parts: You can add new head parts (like scars) by dragging them in from the Object Window. You can delete head parts from this list by clicking on them and then pressing the Delete key.
  • Import: You can import a face saved in a .npc file with SavePCFace to your NPC.

Protip.jpg If you make a change, but don't see it reflected in the Preview pane, click on the Preview checkbox again to force it to update.

Bugs/Issues[edit | edit source]

If the face of an existing NPC is edited or if a new NPC is created, the Dark Face Bug will be introduced into the mod.

The simple solution is to regenerate the tint mask for the NPC like so:

  1. Find and select the NPC in the Actors list
  2. Press the keys Control-F4

For more information, see Dark Face Bug.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • You can select multiple HeadParts in the Object Window and drag them onto the Base Head Parts list. If any of the selected HeadParts have the right types and are compatible with the actor's race and sex, they'll be set as base head parts. If multiple selected HeadParts are compatible with a single slot, the last of those will be applied to that slot.
  • You can drag HeadParts for any race and sex into the Additional Head Parts list. However, base head parts (defined by the HeadPart type) cannot be added to the list.
